An interfaith support group for separated, divorced, widowed and single adults in the Greater Boston Area.  We meet 52 weeks a year.

Weekly Support Groups

  • Our regular Thursday evening program meets 52 weeks a year

  • We focus on a wide range of issues relevant to single adults.

  • We combine both outside speakers and small support/discussion groups, dealing with the physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual dimensions of life.

  • We offer a variety of social activities.

Small Support Groups Available Weekly.

Groups start and end on time.  At 5:30 bring your dinner instead of eating alone.  Orientation for Newcomers 6:15 - 6:45 PM.  Support groups meet 7:00 - 8:00 PM except when they are extended until 8:30 PM.

Loss affects us in many ways and on many levels; emotionally, physically, socially, and financially.  It is for these reasons that we need to take care of ourselves.

'Orientation' for New-Comers 6:15 to 6:45pm 

All newcomers should attend this group in order to understand what New Beginnings is all about and to select a group that best satisfies their needs.

Groups meet from 7:00 to 8:45pm (unless otherwise noted weekly)

'Good Grief' for those recently bereaved, widowed, divorced or separated.  Meet in the kitchen with Miriam and David as facilitators.  Finding meaning in grief, based on C.S. Lewis book A Grief Observed.

'Life Losses' for individuals dealing with multiple losses (partner, friend, relative, job, move etc.)  Meet in the Library with Kathryn and Daisy as facilitators.

'The Brighter Side' - An uplifting group enjoying life's journey

'Beginning Again and The Next Step' for those in the earlier stages of transition but, still dealing with anniversaries, and other anticipatory losses.  Meet in the Reception Room with Helen and Janet as facilitators.

'Moving Forward'  Building networks, and connections to help empower you.  Meet in the Crib Room with Cecille as the facilitator.

'Life Lessons'  This group shares the lessons they have learned from life's lessons & transitions.  Meeting on the 3rd floor in the large gathering room at the end of the hall.  Facilitators rotate weekly.

'Plain Talk' for individuals furthest along in their journey, or for those who just need a break from it all!  Join in lively conversations on various topics of the day.  Meet by the coffee pot in the main meeting room of the church with facilitators Judi and Liz.
